How do you deal with Concurrent Requests, i.e, when a user downloads a file and another user uploads a file and gives me a concurrent request for the same blob at the same time. The previous request is queued, but how do you resolve the case where the two concurrent requests end up with different values? When the two concurrent requests end up with different values, the older one will win. I use a 32 bit signed int to save the blob modification time. In case of second concurrent modification, the first one will win. Is there any better way to save the modification time? I guess it depends on the type of concurrent requests and how you’re going to handle it. For example, if you’re using Windows Azure Blob storage with versioning, only one user can make changes to a blob at a time – the other users have to wait for the one who owns it to finish. The previous request is queued, but how do you resolve the case where the two concurrent requests end up with different values? If you do not have versioning enabled, you can store the last modifiaction time and the result would be the same for both concurrent requests. If you do have versioning, you can also have the last modifiaction time as a metric and do a linear search from the most recent one, which will be closer to the last request. Blobber is a command line tool that has been developed for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Office 2003 or Office 2007 on a PC to upload and download files to/from Azure Blob Storage. This tool will allow you to take the data backup to Windows Azure Storage from a chosen folder. This tool also allows you to monitor the backed up files.
